Supportive Seniors Housing

1. Cedarbrook Lodge

  • For medically stable seniors living independently

  • Supportive housing program offers help with personal care, light housekeeping, medication management and light meal preparation
  • Applicants must be a tenant of Brimley Acres and need assistance with personal support and homemaking services, or 24-hour on-site assistance in order to receive Supportive Housing Services.

3. Willowdale Manor

  • For medically stable seniors living independently
  • 24-hour staff supervision provided
  • Supportive housing program offers help with personal care, light housekeeping, medication management and light meal preparation
  • Please Note:
    • Applicants must be residents of Willowdale Manor and need assistance with personal support and homemaking services, or need 34-hour on-site assistance

4. Good Shepherd Ministries: St. Joseph’s Residence

  • Residents have their own rooms but share common spaces
  • For seniors 55+ with a history of chronic homelessness
  • Priority is given to individuals who also have mental health issues, are living with an addiction, or suffer from chronic illness and disabilities
  • Addictions are managed using a harm reduction model
  • 24/7 support
  • Meals prepared
  • Recreational Programming

5. Deauville Place

  • Monthly rent ranges from $700-$950, depending on unit selected and applicant’s income
  • Cost of utilities included in monthly rent
  • Common area, computer room, and crafts area included
  • Indoor parking/recharging station for power scooters
  • On-site Case Manager available to provide initial voluntary assessment (at the request of each resident)
  • Other services include:
    • Meals on Wheels at discounted prices
    • Grocery delivery service
    • Transportation services for medical appointments and social ides
    • Cluster clean services
    • Home Care (Including personal support and respite care)
    • Indoor home maintenance services
  • Please Note:
    • Qualifying residents must be at least 59 years of age (proof of age will be required)
    • Preference will be given to persons aged 65 and older (as per City of Toronto policy)
    • For persons with disabilities, a certificate from the Referring Agency or Doctor must be provided
    • Monthly income must not exceed four (4) times the monthly rent

6. O’Connor House

O’Connor House is a “Seniors’ family home” for ten frail, elderly persons who are experiencing difficulty coping with the activities of daily living. The residents are able to maintain their individual lifestyles in a warm and friendly environment. Features of the house include private bedrooms, meals, bath supervision (if necessary), access to a house health care providers (e.g. nurse). Monthly charges can be subsidized.

7. First Step to Home Housing

First Step to Home provides transitional housing in fully furnished bachelor units. On site supports and services include:

  • Intensive case management
  • harm reduction and addiction services
  • supportive counseling
  • low barrier programming
  • 24 hours staffing
  • personal support and homemaking
  • weekly assistance keeping unit clean
  • assistance with activities of daily living, such as grocery shopping
  • nursing and medical care
  • life skills development
  • social and recreational activities
  • volunteer opportunities
  • community leadership and peer programs
  • support transitioning to permanent housing
  • follow up supports

Program Restrictions:

  • Men 55+
  • Street involved
  • homeless and/or have a history of unstable housing

8. Mental Health Supportive Housing Cluster

Provides assistance with personal support, home making, meal preparation/shopping, and medications. Staff cook dinner daily for tenants. Social and recreational opportunities are provided. Tenants enjoy their own bachelor units with a shared common area and large kitchen. No nursing care is available. Tenants need to be able to live fairly independently, and be able to live in a congregate setting with others.

Program Restrictions:

  • Seniors 55 and over with a mental heal diagnosis
  • a history/at risk of homelessness
  • Must be able to live independently with supports
